Silly Squirrels go back into hibernation!

Aren't they supposed to be in hibernation or something?!

I just had the worse scare! I'm home alone right now, the girls are at school, dh is at work. I'm reading here and minding my own business. There was a huge clatter against my French doors in the kitchen. I thought someone was breaking in. So after I jumped out of my chair (in the living room) and holding my breath, grabbing my phone to investigate with 911 already typed in, just holding it to hit send if someone was indeed out there...

I have long drapes covering the doors right now to keep the drafts out during the winter and as I pulled it back a freaking squirrel bolted in front of it. OMG!!! In complete panic mode at that point I hit 911 and it dialed. And I'm nearly hyperventilating and could hardly talk to the operator. I felt like a complete idiot telling her I thought someone was breaking into my home, but it was just a squirrel and that I'm sorry.

All because there are two squirrels chasing each other madly around my deck that they knocked over the shovel that was leaning against the wall and it hit the step ladder (where we were fixing an eave this weekend) bounced off the ladder and hit the doors....

I think I may need a new heart now. :#/
