Last few Days

Thursday Dh had the day off and we took the kids out to lunch and then to the Kansas City Zoo. We had Schlosky's. While we were there Hana was standing near our table, not moving, just standing...she was waiting for me to get up to help her with a refill of her lemonade. Dh had gone to the rest room. This middle aged guy totally yelled at her to get out of the way. No respect, nothing. She wasn't even in his way! He had at least a yard between her and the edge of the next table! I yelled at him to find a sense of humor and try to be nicer to children.
Ass.
Anyways we walked around the zoo and had an alright time. Poor Amaya got a blister from her new shoes and she was walking bare foot most of the walk back from Africa (if you don't know this zoo, it's a LONG walk around Africa...Like 2.5-3 hours all the way around). Poor girl wanted to be carried and we were hot and tired too. :( I totally forgot to bring the wagon! We saw all the frisky animals and the monkeys getting it on. LOL At least the girls didn't ask what they were doing! They were more interested in the monkey that was eating the other monkey's butt.... nice. haha.
Today was another hot day. I had C1 and C2 today, my daycare charges :) C1 was a little grumpy today and took forever to get down for her afternoon nap. She finally did. At least Dh made her favorite supper...Molokhia. That cheered her up once she did wake up. The girls all swam in the pool today. C2 took nice long naps today. He's getting so big and roly poly! The boy is a chub!!! :) He's trying so hard to coo and "talk." He's smiling and laughing a lot more now. He loves to play! Makayla gets him going good with some pat a cake! hahaha.
Today I tackled Hana and pulled that tooth that was hanging by a thread. I was starting to worry she'd choke on it. It was hanging so loosely in her mouth that it didn't even bleed when I plucked it. I'm surprised she didn't lose it while eating... but she mastered the side chewing and biting... While I was in there I see that the top two are loose as well! Perhaps by xmas she'll be asking for her two front teeth ;) I got to play tooth fairy and I stuck a few bucks under her pillow. I almost felt bad because she told me she wanted the tooth fairy to bring her another bunny. Bunnies are her newest obsession. She has a few stuffed she trades out and lugs around and I was going to buy her a new stuffy so she can have it under her pillow and I totally forgot about it. So instead she gets a few ones :P~
That's it for now I guess. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!

Today I took the girls to the park to have a picnic lunch of Dairy Queen food. Damn, those mocha moolattes are so darn addicting! YUM. Anyways while they were running around and playing with the kids I started talking with this woman who was there. She's got kids my age and has grandkids. She had her grandson today. She was such an interesting person! She used to buy and sell antiques as a buisness. We got to talking about dolls... something I always have had an interest in. And we must of chatted for two hours about everything. Her husband is in a wound care center with cancer and heart problems and he's only got two months to live. It's a two hour drive to where he is and she goes every other day. She has a daughter that is in florida. Anyways it was just nice to meet her. I just felt good about meeting her.
The girls had a blast. We found a baby tree frog and lady bugs and roly polys and they played on the seesaw and the twirly thing they fly off of when it goes too fast. I got lost on the country roads of Bonner Springs, we saw a deer and then figured out where we were! LOL. It was all good. Did a large grocery order and the girls got crocs. (shoes). They are so cute. I took a picture of all out feet. I'll share later when I get a chance to upload the picture.
Hope you all are well. Me.

So Incredibly Proud
Posted by Mother Faerie @ Wednesday, May 31, 2006
I am so incredibly proud of Makayla. Makayla is 9 years old and just finished third grade. I just got her reports in the mail and she got straight A's as her final grade average! I am so incredibly proud of my girl!!! She did excellent. The STAR testing results also come home at this time. Her math grade is phenomenal! I almost fell out of my chair reading it! She scored a 99. Her grade equivalent for math is EIGTH GRADE!!!! Based on national norms Makayla's math skills are a a level equal to that of a typical eighth grader in the frist month of the school year!
Her reading score has also come in. She scored an 81 nationally and that puts her at a grade equivelancy of a SIXTH GRADER! Although she was at a 6th grade level at the start of the year, she's about mid level sixth grade now and it is still amazing! :) Her Individual performance profile of basic early literacy skills are all above average and in a few instances above chart/graph bounds!
I'm going to try to contact some local private schools to see if they are interested in giving her a scholarship. We talked to several last year but never really followed through with any of them. The main school we talked to last year was way out of our price range. I'm going to do some researching as well. I'll be okay if she stays with this school as well as they work really well at working at her level instead of letting her fall behind bored or doing a bunch of work on her own.
Okay I'm done bragging, but this most certainly has made my day :) She's brillant and I don't know how to keep up with her!

Memorial Day Weekend

Abe has had off work since Wednesday for my surgery. Thursday we went to the Omaha zoo. Friday we hung out at home and the kids swam in the pool. Saturday I went to work and had to turn around and come home after an hour because some kid ran through the register area and startled me and I banged my owie into a bag holder and I all I wanted to do was curl up into a ball and cry...lay down and take some pain meds. ::sigh:: Sunday we picked up pizza and ran up to mom's house. We brought the photo album we put together for her for her birthday. :) Makayla wanted to stay. She's still there today. I worked hard last night and then today I have to sew sew sew. Because of being ill and then surgery I fell behind in sewing. Sitting all the way up straight has been uncomfortable, so I'm going to give it a go today. I hope to get the majority of my sewing done :) I have new releases tonight. ::yawn:: I know I'm going to be exhausted. I'm babysitting tomorrow morning bright and early. eeek. It's going to be a long day....
I hope friends and family, that you all had a wonderful weekend :) Enjoy the extra day off :)
